KERALA GUIDE
How much does Google Ads cost in Kerala?
Google Ads has no minimum spend. You set an average daily budget and usually pay only when someone clicks your ad; GST is added on Indian accounts, and any agency fee is separate. The price per click depends on how many businesses bid on the same searches, so a competitive search in Kochi can cost far more per click than a niche search in a smaller Thrissur town.
How Google Ads billing works
Search ads are mostly charged per click. You set an average daily budget; on a busy day Google may spend up to twice that amount, but across a month it will not charge more than your daily budget multiplied by the average number of days in a month (about 30.4).
- Ad spend: paid to Google, with GST added for Indian accounts.
- Management: the agency fee for keyword research, ads, landing pages, tracking and weekly optimisation, plus GST.
- Landing pages: a one-time cost if you need a dedicated page that converts visitors into enquiries.
Why clicks cost more in some places and industries
- Competition: healthcare, education, real estate, study abroad, legal and finance searches attract many advertisers.
- Location: Kochi and the Ernakulam city area usually have more advertisers per search than smaller towns.
- Quality: ads and landing pages that closely match the search earn a better Quality Score and can pay less per click for the same position.
- Match types: broad keywords bring more clicks, including irrelevant ones; tighter targeting and negative keywords cut waste.
Estimating a budget
Use Google Keyword Planner to see estimated bid ranges for your keywords and location, then work out the clicks you need.
Example only, not a rate: if a click costs ₹30 on average and 1 in 12 visitors enquires, each enquiry costs about ₹360 in ad spend. For 30 enquiries a month, budget roughly ₹10,800 a month, or ₹355 a day, plus GST.
Track calls, form submissions and WhatsApp clicks as conversions from day one so you can judge cost per enquiry, not just cost per click.
Where Google Ads money is usually wasted
- No negative keywords, so ads show for jobs, free and DIY searches.
- Sending traffic to the home page instead of a relevant service page.
- No call or WhatsApp tracking, so the best campaigns cannot be identified.
- Targeting all of India when you serve one district.
